Cynthia McMullen, CHT, LMT, MQT, SM

Co-Founder and Faculty at Alaska Institute of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture & Massage Therapy

With over 20 years of experience in Oriental medicine, Massage Therapy, Medical QiGong Energy Healing, and related modalities, it is my purpose to use these gifts to help create a healing experience in the unique way that each individual needs.

Everything I do is based on the energetics of Oriental medicine and the Five Element philosophy. Most importantly I work with what you most connect with as I strongly believe that people are naturally drawn to therapies that will benefit them – something in us Knows. I also offer advice, based on my professional experience, as to what I feel will be the most efficient and effective path to your goal.

With respect and compassion, I use a combination of therapies and tools to address physical, emotional, and spiritual issues. Our bodies are designed to heal so let’s create the circumstances to allow the healing to happen.

Services Provided:

(Mind) Clinical Hypnotherapy, Esoteric Hypnosis, Mindfulness Coaching

Mindfulness coaching uses a light Alpha-wave brain state and is similar to a guided meditation where you are relaxed and fully aware.

Hypnosis uses a deep Theta-wave brain state that is a more focused trance. Also very relaxing and usually experienced with a pleasant altered awareness. You are always in full control, even in the trance state.

For those wanting to tap into the power of your subconscious mind, hypnosis and mindfulness coaching can be used for almost anything you want. Some examples I’ve worked with:

Chronic pain management, writer’s block, lost items, procrastination, weight release, stop smoking, test anxiety and information recall, initiating the healing response, clearing old emotional baggage, finding life purpose, seeing and feeling energy (Qi), life changes, making decisions, connecting with spirit guides, remembering other lives, and much more.

NOTE: If you are being treated by a doctor for chronic pain or mental health issues please bring a doctor’s note acknowledging that they approve the use of clinical hypnosis with your condition.

(Body) Massage Therapy and Bodywork

I have studied many styles of massage therapy and use a fusion style that mainly combines Tuina Acupressure, relaxing Swedish, and therapeutic Sports massage. I work with general health maintenance, injuries and rehab, and minor to major health issues.

During your massage, I may also suggest: Gua Sha, Cupping, Aromatherapy/topical Essential Oils

(Spirit) Medical QiGong Energy Healing, Light-Color-Sound Therapy

I offer both in-person and distant healing sessions. Medical QiGong uses the same meridians, points, and theory as Acupuncture. I do not use needles, however, I do use highly effective methods in place of needles such as Tuning Forks, Singing Bowls, Vocal Toning, Auricular Therapy with Essential Oils, Acupressure and Yin-Tuina, Crystals, Light, and Color.

During your energy healing session, you may listen to special binaural and brain-entrainment music I’ve chosen specifically to complement the healing state. This cutting-edge neuroscience therapy enhances the energetic sensations for both of us.
